The Department of Radiotherapy is part of the Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre. It is a middle-sized department playing a key-role within the Comprehensive Cancer Centre East (IKO). Apart from our day-to-day top-clinical patient care, the Department of Radiotherapy conducts internationally awarded scientific research. As department we are also actively involved in national and international training programs.
In the nearby future, the multidisciplinary oncologic top patient care within the Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre will be centered in an Oncologic Department physically hosting all oncologic specialties. In 2011, a satellite of this Oncologic Department will be opened in the new Maasziekenhuis in Boxmeer.
Characteristic for our Department of Radiotherapy is the patient-focused organization where the patient is in key position and the organization is tailored around the patient. You will find an open culture with pleasant multidisciplinary conventions, passion for the specialty and a high intrinsic motivation. Our staff consists of 11 radiation oncologists and 5 physicists. Together with our colleagues in the “Arnhems Radiotherapeutisch Instituut” (ARTI) we train 8 residents.
In the Department of Radiotherapy, the radiation oncologists, physicists, technologists, nurses, radiobiologists, doctor’s assistants and secretaries work close together.
