Our mission is to ’Continuously belong to the best’
The Department of Radiotherapy of the Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre wants to be one of the best departments in the Netherlands and in Europe regarding patient care, research and training.
Furthermore, the department wants to lead the expansion of oncologic care in the Eastern part of the Netherlands.
We measure the satisfaction of our clients and patients, examine our training performance and regularly assess our scientific research in order to evaluate whether we succeed in our approach.
At the Department of Radiotherapy, the patient is in key position and we aim at delivering the highest achievable quality.
Apart from direct patient care, we focus on preclinical, translational and clinical scientific research and on education and training.
We host almost all modern techniques of irradiation, i.e., intra- and extra-cranial stereotactic radiotherapy and intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT).
The department is equipped with linear accelerators (one of them with facilities for stereotactic radiotherapy), a CT simulator, brachytherapy, including IOBT, and a number of inpatient beds for the delivery of other forms of brachytherapy.
