Esther Troost MD, PhD, resident at the Department of Radiation Oncology, Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre, wins the ESTRO-Varian Award 2010 for her PhD dissertation entitled “Validation of PET imaging for non-invasive characterization of head and neck tumors”. She recently obtained her PhD degree from the Radboud University Nijmegen. The awards committee found this work “to have been conducted in a skillful and scientifically admirable way".
The ESTRO-Varian Award is given annually by the European Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology to a radiotherapy professional for enlightening research in the field of radiobiology, radiation physics, clinical radiotherapy or radiation technology. Dr. Troost will receive the award on September 14th at the 29th ESTRO annual meeting in Barcelona, Spain.
